A special meeting of the Zoning Board of Appeals was called to
order by Chairman Hensick at 7:50 p.m. The following board members
were present constituting a quorum for the transaction of business:
Chris Hensick, Jean Ledford and Polly Skolarus. Also present were
the Genoa Township Planning Commission, Township Zoning
Administrator Adam VanTassell, Township Attorney Rick Heikkinen and
15 persons in the audience.
This special meeting was set in conjunction with a Planning
Commission meeting; held this same date, to discuss the Orlandini
petition that requires many variances. The Planning Commission first
discussed the request. The petition for approval failed three to
one. The single factor affecting their decision appeared to be the
size of the building that was 30% greater in area than the existing
buildings on the site.
Moved by Ledford, supported by Skolarus, to approve the Agenda as
presented. The motion carried unanimously.
1. 01-36…A request by Joe and Shannon Orlandini, Section 9,
4689 E. Grand River, is for a front, rear and side yard variance in
addition to parking lot variances to construct a new building.
Mr. Orlandini asked that the petition be tabled since only three
persons were in attendance and he would need a unanimous decision
for approval. Moved by Skolarus, supported by Ledford, to table (at
the petitioner's request) until the next regular meeting of the
Zoning Board of Appeals. The motion carried unanimously.
The special meeting of the Zoning Board of Appeals was adjourned
at 7:55 p.m.
