MINUTES
Chairman Mike Howell called the regular meeting of the Zoning Board of Appeals to order at 6:30 p.m. at the Genoa Charter Township Hall. The Pledge of Allegiance was then said. The following board members were present constituting a quorum for transaction of business: Steve Wildman, Mike Howell, Barbara Figurski, Joe Perri and Kevin Brady. Also present was Township staff member Adam VanTassell and 3 persons in the audience.
Moved by Figurski, supported by Wildman to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried unanimously.
A call to the public for non-agenda items was made with no response.
08-05…A request by Frank and Lisa Leppek, Section 13, 7341 W. Grand River, for a sign variance.
Moved by Brady, supported by Wildman, to approve case #08-05 located at 7341 W. Grand River for a 30 sq.ft. to add to an existing sign. The finding of fact is the location of the existing pole sign and the property could not support an additional monument sign for the second business and this variance is granted due to the practical difficulty that the strict application of the sign restrictions would unreasonably prevent the use of the property, the placement of the building on the site being the extraordinary circumstances which burden this parcel which were not self-created by the applicant and the negligible impact on the public safety, welfare, use and value of the surrounding neighborhood. The motion carried as follows: Ayes: Wildman, Brady, Perri. Nays: Figurski, Howell.
Moved by Figurski, supported by Wildman, to approve the February 19th, 2008 Zoning Board of Appeals minutes. Motion carried unanimously.
