  1. 08-01…A request by Loren and Pamela Miller, Section 28, 4099 Broadmoor Court, for a rear yard variance to construct an enclosed patio.

MINUTES

Vice Chairperson Barbara Figurski called the regular meeting of the Zoning Board of Appeals to order at 6:30 p.m. at the Genoa Charter Township Hall. The Pledge of Allegiance was then said. The following board members were present constituting a quorum for transaction of business: Kevin Brady, Joe Perri, Steve Wildman, Mike Howell and Barbara Figurski. Also present was Township staff member Adam Van Tassell and 2 persons in the audience.

Vice Chairperson Barbara Figurski gave introduction of the board members.

Moved by Brady, supported by Howell, to approve the agenda with the move of the election of officers to the end of the meeting. Motion carried unanimously.

08-01…A request by Loren and Pamela Miller, Section 28, 4099 Broadmoor Court, for a rear yard variance to construct an enclosed patio.

Moved by Perri, supported by Brady to grant case# 08-01, 4099 Broadmoor Court, for a rear yard variance of 15 foot with a setback of 35 feet. The addition is to be guttered. The finding of fact is the typography of the land in regards to the steep hill and the granting of the variance will not impair an adequate supply of light and air to adjacent property or unreasonably increase the congestion in public streets, or increase the danger of fire or endanger the public safety, comfort, morals or welfare of the inhabitants of the Township of Genoa. The variance will not interfere with or discourage the appropriate development, continued use, or value of adjacent properties and the surrounding neighborhood. Motion carried unanimously.

Moved by Perri, supported by Brady to elect Mike Howell as Chairman of the Zoning Board of Appeals. Motion carried unanimously.

Moved by Brady, supported by Wildman, to elect Barbara Figurski as Vice Chairman of the Zoning Board of Appeals. Motion carried unanimously.

Moved by Brady, supported by Wildman to approved the December 11, 2007 Zoning Board of Appeals minutes as presented. Motion carried unanimously.

Meeting adjourned at 6:54 p.m.
