MINUTES

Supervisor McCririe called the regular meeting of the Genoa Charter Township Board to order at 6:30 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was then said. The following persons were present constituting a quorum for the transaction of business: Gary McCririe, Robin Hunt, Todd Smith, Steve Wildman and Jim Mortensen. Also present were Township Manager Michael Archinal and one person in the audience.
Approval of Consent Agenda:
Moved by Mortensen, supported by Smith to approve the consent agenda. The motion carried unanimously.

Approval of Regular Agenda:
Moved by Smith, supported by Ledford, to approve for action all items listed under the regular agenda. The motion carried unanimously.

3. Resolution to express appreciation to the Livingston Sunrise Rotary Club for improvements to the Chilson Hills Cemetery.
Supervisor McCririe read a resolution prepared to acknowledge the efforts of the Livingston Sunrise Rotary Club at the Chilson Hills Cemetery. The Supervisor, Treasurer, Clerk and Manager had recently visited the cemetery and its condition was excellent.
Don Pobuda was present to accept the resolution on behalf of the club. He expressed appreciation for the Township's help in providing a dumpster for refuse removal and providing tree clearing prior to their project. The club has plans for additional improvements to the grounds. He will pass on the Boards appreciation to the other club members.
Moved by Smith, supported by Hunt to approve the following resolution:
THE CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF GENOA BOARD OF TRUSTEES
HEREBY PRESENTS RESOLUTION #070904
TO: THE LIVINGSTON SUNRISE ROTARY CLUB
WHEREAS; The Livingston Sunrise Rotary Club is a service club of local leaders dedicated to improving their community; and
WHEREAS; The Sunrise Club has undertaken the improvement of the Chilson Hills Cemetery as a service project; and
WHEREAS; The Chilson Hills Cemetery serves a valuable purpose for members of our community grieving loved ones; and
WHEREAS; The Chilson Hills Cemetery serves a valuable community purpose by providing open space and scenic vistas; and
WHEREAS; The Sunrise Club's substantial efforts have resulted in the dramatic improvement of the condition of the landscaping and grounds in the Chilson Hills Cemetery,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Township Board of the Charter Township of Genoa, Michigan with this resolution formally expresses its sincere appreciation and thanks to The Livingston Sunrise Rotary Club for its contribution to our community and highly commends them for the manner in which they have improved the Chilson Hills Cemetery.
Adopted this 4th day of September, 2007
The motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote with one absent.

4. Request to adjourn to a closed session of the Board to discuss pending litigation.
Moved by Smith, supported by Hunt, to enter into closed session. Motion carried unanimously on a roll call vote with one absent.

The Board reconvened the open meeting at 6:45 p.m.

Correspondence:
Correspondence from the United State Marshall was received related to the prior Lee's Collision property. Trustee Smith asked that he hoped the Marshall's office understands the condition of the site and hopes they will move forward with remediation. Mr. Archinal responded that, through correspondence of the Township Attorney, they are aware of the Township's position in this regard.
