Trustee Todd Smith
Mr. Smith graduated from Central Michigan University in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance / Accounting and a specialization in Real Estate. Course work consisted of Masters Degree Classes in Financial analysis and real estate development.
Following graduation, Mr. Smith was employed by Manufactures Bank in downtown Detroit and worked within the Corporate Trust Department, Special Projects Division. During his employment with Manufactures Bank, Mr. Smith oversaw employee benefit trusts in excess of $ 350 Million Dollars with daily trades and transactions of short term cash needs in excess of $20 Million Dollars.
In 1986, Mr. Smith joined Thompson Brown REALTORS, a Commercial Industrial Brokerage house located within Farmington Hills Michigan. During the past 23 years, Mr. Smith has accounted for sales in excess of $ 180 Million Dollars and his activities have been primarily large land development and acquisitions for a wide variety of Development Companies based within the United States
Mr. Smith is a licensed Associate Broker within the State of Michigan. Additionally, in 1995 Mr. Smith established Laurex LLC, a real estate brokerage and development company. Laurex LLC specializes in special site acquisitions for local and national development companies and Real Estate Development. Recent developments include a 40,000 square foot Multi Use corporate hangar facility in Livingston County, a 285 unit Multiple Family Development called Central Park Estates in Novi Michigan and a 14,000 square foot Retail Development in Howell.
In addition to Mr. Smith's development activities he is also currently Vice President of the Rock Financial Showplace and is President of several promotion companies that produce a wide variety of trade shows such as the Michigan Golf Show, the Great Lakes Aviation Conference and the Michigan Wine Expo. The Rock Financial Showplace is located in Novi Michigan.
In 2000 and 2004 Mr. Smith led a successful campaign for Genoa Township Trustee which he has recently won re election. Genoa Township has been the fastest growing community in Michigan for the past 10 years. This government position is suited to Mr. Smith's past development work and integration with other government municipalities.
Mr. Smith serves as the Chairman of the Howell Area Parks Authority which is a multi jurisdictional Authority that provides recreational and educational services for 4 communities in Livingston County. Additionally, Mr. Smith was recently appointed to serve on the Study commission for the Brighton Area Fire Authority.

His family has resided in Genoa Township since 1988 and maintains a home along with many other public activities in the community. Robin Smith is a homemaker and takes care of the twin boys who are diagnosed with severe ADHD and requires most constant attention.
